I am forever grateful that I stumbled into the local health food store when I was 17. It became my first job and 34 years later I'm still there, though under a new owner. When the nutritionists and herbalists spoke, I listened. When classes were held, I attended. The knowledge I have gained over the years is priceless and lives have been changed and made better for that knowledge. "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food."🩷
I love Rosalee de la Foret. I have her book "Alchemy of Herbs".
You're right, herbal medicine is all around us.
I was just saying the other day "I have little apothecaries in my house: one in my tea cupboard, one in my herb cupboard, and one on my essential oils shelf." ☺️
I’m not sure how you feel about supplements or multivitamins, but I’m hugely skeptical of both and don’t use them. Like you, I believe in eating well, using herbs and doing my own cooking. I know my body well enough to stay away from food and other things that don’t sit well, especially as I age. I’ll check out the herb book you mentioned.

Amazing stroke of luck!
This is so true Ellen. I, too, came late to the herbal wonders growing in our own backyard, but it's better late than never!
