Daily & Do-able
All my personal training clients fill out what I call an Info Form. What do you like workout-wise? What are your fitness goals? Are there any medical conditions or injuries I should know about? A major question I added to the Info Form about year ago is, “What are three daily & do-able habits that would positively effect your life?”
Pinpointing three daily & do-able things is an exercise I read about in a book. After doing this myself, within a month, I had up-leveled. I slept better, had more clarity, became more present and less frazzled, created more time for myself, and was in a better mood. Each day felt slightly more successful.
➡️ Can three daily & do-able habits change your life? 100percent yes.
Before I share my three habits, I want to define daily & do-able. It means simple, repeatable, and no emotion attached. It’s a daily habit that takes a teeny bit of effort, but zero willpower. Here are some good examples:
• Making your bed
• Putting in your retainer before going to sleep
• Taking your vitamin D supplement
• Making a daily to-do list
• Packing a bottle of water in your bag
• Laying out your outfit the night before
• Replying to or deleting all emails within 24hours
• Drinking water first thing upon rising
• Putting your car keys in the same spot every time
* Straightening up your office space at the end of the workday
When I posed this question to myself, I knew immediately the exact three habits I wanted to needed to implement. All three were habits I had dabbled with in the past - and I knew they served me well - but I was wishy-washy. I didn’t fully commit to all three every single day, and to my detriment. I didn’t treat them like the up-levelers they are! (Shame on me…was it self-sabotage or ignorance? 🤔)
Daily & Do-able Habit #1
“Close” my kitchen for the night. Like a restaurant, I wanted to metaphorically hang a “sorry, we’re closed” sign at around 8pm. My kitchen is clean and neat, everything is put away, the citrus juicer is ready for use in the a.m., the are lights off, and the countertops are
➡️ This habit’s effect? I start the day in a good mood and with tranquility. I get everything I need to get done (like feeding dogs and packing a lunch for my son) with more ease and in peace.
